New Zealand South Island - Day 2

After a refreshing night ... Sleep tight but wake up with anger because the bugger didnt wake me up for star shooting. Around 5am, the night was still dark, I decided to go out hostel looby and take some quick shoot. Temperature is estimated around 0 Celsius, with glove and full set of winter clothing. Result was good, love the sky in Lake Tekapo.

In the same time my lovely wife and Christine is starting to prepare breakfast. We are preparing the extra meal for the bugger who always late of wake up (the last person who wake up in whole journey), the bugger name is Au Yong CK.

Burger 1 for Me, Burger 2 for Wife and Burger 3 for this Bugger LOL~!!

The cat is coming from outside and we enjoy eating with him

After a simple and wonderful breakfast, preparing to leave Lake Tekapo to next destination Oamaru. Before leaving the hostel, we having a group photo and Blue Penguin is waiting us...!

A picture is worth a thousand words, can you see cloud?

Lovely flare from natural sun light

Love NZ, thank you Sam to hold the board :p

As usual, Group photo before leaving Lake Pukaki

Driving about 150km alone, all of them sleep like a pig. Passing by alot nice and natural scenery, worth as a driver driving in New Zealand. We reach Oamaru around 10am. Buying ticket (Guided Day Tour NZD 18) and ready to visit. No Camera is allowed to bring inside the Blue Colony Penguin Zone due to it might will disturb the Penguin.

Hello Penguin, we are penguin too

This is the house they live... very small isn't it?

We only able to take photo outside the colony

How is Penguin sound? Errr errr or quek quek?

Is advisable to visit the place around 5-6pm because you can see the rarest yellow-eye penguin come back home. Here are some sample I get from others website

After enjoy little cutey penguin and here are doing some stupid thing

5 big penguins crossing the road

After doing so much of stupid little things and our stomach is calling for 911. Looking around the area and guess what? We finally choose what Malaysian do, KFC Muahaha... After so many day of coffee and sandwich we miss FAST FOOD very much.

Taste is not much different but there is no Chili Sauce :(

KFC advertisement? or Contest?

Filing up our stomach with KFC, burp... Nice and enjoying the weather in New Zealand. Driving around Oamaru and heading our next destination, Moeraki. Place which known with famous big and round stones near the beach, they call it Moeraki boulders.

On the way, we saw many great building, awesome

It take us less than an hour to reach Moeraki. However we take sometimes to get to Moeraki boulders due to the GPS did not found the place.

"Some 60 million years ago, the concretions we know as the Moeraki boulders started forming on the ocean floor. Centuries of coastline erosion have revealed a spectacular view of these curiously large spherical boulders." quote by moerakiboulders

This is the explanation board at the entrance.

To reach this place, you need to walk at least 10-15mins

The close up look of the broken stone.

Inside the stone it look like this. We still not believe is form from natural, it look just like human made Lol

Some of our pre wedding photo taken here too

Beautiful yellowish flower

Not forget we always enjoy some stupid shot :)

Amazingly we can spend 2 hours here just playing around with the stone? Unbelievable ~! According to the website, there is a great restaurant around Moeraki and a must visit place, they called it Fleur's Place http://www.fleursplace.com/

Just for your information, in the Winter time the sky will  turn dark around 5-6pm. We leaving Moeraki boulders around 4.30pm and reach around the restaurant around 5pm. Sunset just infront of the restaurant, since we are not yet hungry we do some shooting around this place.

This is how the restaurant look alike, simple and nice

The weather just nice and we decide to sit outside :) but not for long

Some beautiful photo shot by Auyong CK got feel~!
